We had a lovely day with friends - the equivalent of two years worth of socialising for us. We are now recovering IN NZ, currently sitting by the shore at Whitianga as the sun rises....

Hi dear Ronnie. Thankyou! Apologies for not saying anything earlier. What we say about our private life here on Substack is always agreed between us, and we just had not had that conversation about this particular news because I've been too busy to write anything about it. Yesterday I thought - "Oh! We really should say something" - so I wrote the Post and Meg agreed to it.
Thankyou Sam! It's a very happy day for us, but also a continuation of many others. We have been together for 25 years ... so we both feel very fortunate.
In one sense - it's just another day. We have been together almost 25 years. But in another sense, it is a wonderful celebration, and we are deeply happy. We had not thought of saying anything on Substack - but we have a growing group of good people here - and my poetry is often about our life together, so yesterday I wrote the Post that appears here, and then I thought - half the meaning of it is in the event, and no-one knows about the event. So I added the little announcement.
The world is a better world with you two in it and in love. Is it any wonder that the ocean supports you as do we all. Blessings to you both.
