We have had a happy and peaceful day - just ourselves in our little home on the riverbank, with the sun on the water. Oh - and a few Rainbow Lorikeets came along to celebrate too.
It's late here now, and M is on a long phone call with family, but tomorrow will be another beautiful day - whatever the weather!
Thankyou so much Martin! It feels a privilege to be lucky enough to grow older when so many are denied the opportunity. I live onwards with the careful acknowledgment of those I knew earlier in life … and didn’t make it to 67 years.
I want to be ethically, conscientiously doing my bit for what’s in my sphere of influence.
Yes, Meg, I've had problems with that as well. Recently, my friend and close neighbour died, and he was quite a few years younger than me. But let's not dwell on sad things such as that on your birthday. Let's just give thanks for the great blessing of being here another year and make the most of what we have. I'm going to pour myself a glass Guinness and toast you and David and all the love you've put into the world. You can do no more than that. Sláinte.

Oh yeah - plus an Irish Whiskey (or 2) in honour of M's spiritual homeland.....
Well. Yeah - I kinda want to - but … it’s also her day to do what she likes. Right now we are playing loud late 60’s music. 🎶 while we cook dinner together. :)

Agreed, yes. T’was the Jameson we toasted together for my birthday earlier perhaps, giving me some Irish melancholy!
