David, I very much appreciate the humility in this statement. I try to see things as integral beyond the limits of my gaze. You capture that effort beautifully here.

On my Facebook page I described it this way: Hunter gatherer cultures worship the natural world and define themselves by their place within it. Sit in a forest as the day fades, and look, and listen, and you might see new things, which are really very old things. I found a Dryad.....

Perhaps you have found something similar with your visits to the forests of Peru....

absolutely. We live in the middle of the forest. a 20 min walk to a little rustic town of 2000 people. sometimes i go deeper into the old forest. but it's very much an immersive thing- my wee office is a patio off the back of the house and has forest walls. Very very old things. Love this comment. all of it.
