Winter Solstice
(Australia...)
This day…
I am salt sprayed,
sea moulded by
certainty.
I am ocean washed, wave
lapped, loved and
mid-wintered.
I am honeycomb weathered -
heart patterned,
pitted.
Each cove a covenant -
a promise, bouldered
and binding.
Cliff hemmed, sky
roofed, lichened
and coloured.
Season balanced, cloud lavished,
I am paused, stilled,
soul stunned…
ravished.

Summer Solstice

I woke this morning early, pre-dawn, and listened to the world awake around me. I read some beautiful things here on Substack, and comments and messages from friends, then I posted this Note:

The sky so blue. Deep inside I see cerulean clouds and the stars shine brighter in winter; night is alive with wonder. Sea shells listen; I heard your words speak waves that pull the tidal sheets closer around sleeping 💤.
Just so stunning. Thank you for sharing your poetry and photography skills David.
