Thank you, dear Kaylen. There is no single recipe for this - for life and love and longing - but this is what occurred to me at the time, and I am delighted to share…
Thank you dear Kathleen. I had two delights - seeing the rainbow, and then sharing it with her. Now I have a third - sharing it with all the wonderful people here…
What an amazing thing. I love this post. This rainbow. I once chased a cloud in the car (Dale was driving). I kept taking photo after photo, and then, when we were almost home, the cloud was molten, like a portal to another world.
Ah! The delight of clouds…. I find them endlessly fascinating.
This was a particularly lovely rainbow, and very brief. It was nearing sunset, with cloud across most of the sky, but as the sun neared the horizon it found clear air and the light came in horizontally, under the clouds, illuminating the world in soft yellow tints and sparking the rainbow from the shower approaching out of the East.
I really had spent the day restlessly - doing various necessary but uninspiring tasks that I had already put off till later, several times. It was now indisputably “later” so I made myself work through the list, when what I really wanted was to be outside. Finally, with M’s encouragement, I seized the last hour of daylight to go out cycling along the quiet roads around the island.
I thought the exercise was my reward for getting my jobs done.
Then the rainbow appeared!
I went from restless/sad to ecstatic in seconds - another form of cycling…
Wow--of course life so easily rewards us with these breathtaking moments. Restless though we may be, the eyes (the vision) to really see what beauty surrounds us is a gift beyond measure...and Dave, you always see. Thank you for sharing your vision and especially your love for Meg and humanity. Not only do you see the beauty but you carry the beauty with you and this is the most rewarding gift for us all. It makes the poetry that much more felt. Lots of love to you and Meg, Sylvia xo
Ah! Dear Sylvia…. there is mystery and wonder all around us. Thank you for your always generous and loving comment, my friend - you are a beautiful light on this otherwise rainy day….

Yes. I admire and envy you your sound/fit body. I wish I could just set out walking somewhere. I wish I lived in a place conducive to walking. Alas.
Meringued with meaning. What a delicious poem - love it, David!

From my seat on a far away hill; a hydrant of vapor that rainbow 🌈 flames through the sky love mist.
