We’re beginning to warm up with almost early spring-like temperatures. Much of the snow has melted but this may just be a brief reprieve before Winter returns. I welcome it while it lasts!

You so beautifully capture the depth and emotion of a profound connection and love . The imagery of light, warmth, and containment evokes a sense of intimacy and completeness.

Absolutely beautiful ♥️

Thank you, dear Aaliya.

Sensual poetry…. erotic poetry … usually fails. If this poem works, it is because it is really a poem about love - which is precisely what you see in it. The sensuality all flows from that…

Your comment is truly wonderful.

Best Wishes - Dave

finding the still point

I could not find inside my own existence.- this is what I identified with the most. The struggle to find the still point. What a matter-of-fact and honest poem!

David Kirkby's avatar

Hi Namratha. Thank you.

Yes…. the struggle to find the still point. At the time I wrote this, my life was in great turmoil.

I wrote it directly for my wonderful friend long ago - now my lover and best friend for over 25 years. I shared it this week, and only with her permission, because ….. love is so central to the human experience.

I am truly delighted that you find the meaning and intent of my words…

Best Wishes - Dave :)

Your words of love for your wife, is so tenderly written, David. Lovely!

David Kirkby's avatar

Thank you, dear Rea

I am deeply fortunate.

My post "Shaman" from 2 weeks earlier, was about my wife's own grief, for her Son.

Very different circumstances to your own; just, awful in a different way...

Best Wishes - Dave

What a beautiful bond you describe, Dave, the stuff that makes the sun rise, upon it the world turns...

David Kirkby's avatar

Hey Síodhna

My thanks…….

This one is - obviously - personal and intimate. I wrote it only for M, some time ago, and it is shared only with her blessing, but yes - this is “makes the sun rise, upon it the world turns...” I love that!

May your own day be full of love.

Best Wishes - Dave :)

Beautiful, may you and Meg have a lovely day that continues on 💘💝💓(week, month, & year)

David Kirkby's avatar

Hey dear Marjorie! Thank you, my friend. That is our intention, and we have managed it so far, year after year, despite the occasional grief that life gives along with the joys, as you know...

Hoping your own day - and year - are full of love.

D :)
