I think my poems are like emotional responses to everything happening in and around me. Everything processed or unprocessed finds its way into a poem... :) So yes, instinctive, immediate - something like that :)
Hey Rebecca! Just going through my notifications - you just had a big read of my Substack. You give birth to wonderful new poetry regularly, so I hope binging on mine doesn't give you poetic indigestation. :)
Meg would say to you "Sure you can learn to do art like this!
She created the Levanto watercolour while I was out doing something ridiculous - climbing the rocky peak behind the old farmhouse where we were staying. I got some nice photos and good exercise, but M's painting was better than anything I found.
So I created this post around her art, but it's really a love poem, where the images are vital to the text. Which is how I feel about us as a couple - vital to each other.
M would happily give you suggestions on art. She was, in an earlier era of her life, an Art Teacher.
Geeze, Dave. Your writing feeds me. So far the only thing I've stuck to is digital drawing. And I love it. Watercolor though, does interest me because it seems to be something quick and I'm all about quick.
Cosmic and fragile… and loving Meg’s art!
Thankyou Ronnie!
D :)
Love the description of the bay as a kiss awaiting lips... hmmmm!
Thankyou Rajani :)
Sometimes poetry is… instinctive.
But I think that says something about the nature of existence, rather than the nature of any individual.
Where does your writing come from?
Very Best Wishes - Dave:)

Do love this art. When I see art like this, I always wonder if I could teach myself to do it.
