So beautifully sad.

You write so beautifully David, so much said with so few words….a concentrated powerful essence. We have all been there.

Thankyou, Chris. I was reading comments by another poet, recently, to the effect that good poetry requires universality and should therefore not be too situation specific. I don't fully agree - but there is some truth to it.

I'm not sure which is worse - the words you find you cannot speak, or those you later regret uttering. We all accumulate instances. I try not to forget mine, with the intent of doing better in future.

I have a poem about that too, somewhere. Maybe I'll dig it up and peg it out here.... :)

We have all been there - that time when there was so much to say, and no way to get it out, and all we can do is witness our own disaster. When it happens, you know you need to change your life.

(For the sake of clarity - this is from long ago, and I did.)

🙂

So have a beautiful day, and practise love.

Powerful imagery to this piece, David! That first line pulled me right now - "my words fall over themselves to reach you."

Thankyou, Ash. I'm sure you have been there too...

I found your site late in my last night, and now my morning is dragging me away to do other things I need to do. Which its why your previous site name - "The Art of Paying Attention" - was a good one. (My wonderful partner often refers to the watered down reality so many people are reduced to these days as "constant partial attention" - the erosion of consciousness.... )

However I like the new name too. I spend as much time outdoors as I can, and it is for sure one of the best places to write poetry. I look forward to reading more of your own. :)
