There are days when everything is drenched in significance, when taking a single step seems irrevocably and excruciatingly consequential, not because of who we are, but because of what the world is.
My thanks, dear Nazish…. These are images from the last year or two, of things which spoke to me. I claim no real expertise as a photographer - other than, perhaps, a recognition of things worth looking at.

Thank you, dear Rajani. I collect images because the process helps me notice things, and now Substack gives me a wider use for them. The little water dragon was an intense delight, in our garden one morning. I stopped to admire the flower spike and then realised that it already had an admirer! The contrast of lizard with flower looks contrived - or even photo shopped - but this is exactly as I found her.
"Speaking in silence simply by being." That stayed with me. Sometimes the smallest things ask the most of our attention, and your words let the photographs breathe instead of explaining them.
Yes - the world is full of meaning, but we lack the time and attention for most of it, most of the time, and we overlook the small things - but if we do give them our attention.... well... they speak....
