Death Valley Junction
One night at the Amargosa Hotel and Opera House....
Death Valley Junction, under this deep blue desert Autumn sky. All that clear air poured in over the landscape, and flowing over the tattered scrub, and around the huddle of paint cracked white walls and colonnades of the Amargosa Hotel and Opera House.

Inside the cafe, unexpected espresso coffee, swirling ceiling fans and a rockabilly music track shouting down the voices of the staff at the counter, then turned down, disappeared, replaced by the softer tones of “C’mon people now, smile on your brother…”
Outside, the desert air awaits, gently assimilating everything into itself - cement and steel, paint and purpose, music and memory…. We can sit by the window and watch it happen - the sun sucking at the dry sand and the cloudless sky raining slow drops and drips of time, eroding all our works away.

Death Valley Junction - an intersection of art and living, each visitor bringing their own history, their own desire, their own longing.
Arriving, pausing, leaving, travelling on……

That’s wonderful Dave, we had a tour of the opera house while we were there but we were staying in Death Valley itself for the duration. I’ll share my pictures from DVJ later in the year.
In wonder what dreams are like in the swan bed.💕🥰
